Breuil-Cervinia is located in Aosta Valley, at 2,050 metres and sits right under the famous Matterhorn. It is linked to Zermatt in Switzerland and Valtournenche. This makes it one of the largest linked ski areas in the Alps, with over 360 km of slopes. The resort suits everyone; it has easy, scenic slopes for beginners and tough runs for advanced skiers. Don’t miss the Matterhorn Alpine Crossing, Europe’s highest lift station at 3,500 metres that connects Italy and Switzerland. The journey features stunning alpine views, the world’s highest glacier palace, and several platforms to enjoy the scenery. Two primary lifts carry skiers from the village straight onto the slopes. The Plan Maison gondola departs from the village and reaches Plan Maison. The Cretaz and Pancheron chairlifts take skiers to Plan Torrette.
Courmayeur is a charming mountain village nestled at 1,224 metres in the Aosta Valley, on the Italian side of Mont Blanc. The traffic-free centre has cobbled streets, classic Alpine buildings, and a rich heritage atmosphere. The resort boasts over 100 km of ski slopes, all framed by breathtaking views of Europe’s highest peak. Courmayeur is known for its excellent Italian food. You can enjoy mountain dishes to fancy Michelin-starred meals. A must-see highlight is the Skyway Monte Bianco cable car. The floor-to-ceiling, 360° rotating cabins take visitors to Punta Helbronner at 3,466 metres. Courmayeur’s slopes are great for intermediate and advanced skiers. Beginners have fewer options, but there’s plenty of exciting terrain for those with some skill.
Champoluc, located at 1,570 metres, is part of the Monterosa Ski area. It is renowned for its peaceful slopes, reliable snow, and stunning views of the Monte Rosa massif. The ski resort is a favourite for confident intermediate and advanced skiers. Beginners can also enjoy a few blue runs. Champoluc is a perfect balance between authentic Alpine character and exceptional skiing. The Monterosa Ski area covers over 180 km of well-groomed slopes. It connects three valleys: Champoluc, Gressoney, and Alagna Valsesia. Beginners can hone their skills on the gentle blues in Frachey and the Crest area. Strong intermediates will enjoy the long, smooth red runs from Colle Bettaforca (2,727 m) and Colle Sarezza (2,700 m). Advanced skiers can challenge themselves on steep black runs or explore the famous off-piste area of Punta Indren.
